SETs Advisory Council

The SETs Advisory Council serves as the main coordinating and governance body for the university-wide SETs project and represents needs and interests of major stakeholders in the SETs development process. It seeks to support the SETs project overall goals of strengthening feedback, eliminating bias, and advancing excellence and innovation in teaching at Cornell.

Objectives

The objectives of the committee and sub/working groups for functional and technical implementation:

  • support for college conversions to Explorance Blue (new SETs software system)
  • implementation of updated core questions
  • implementation of dashboards and reporting systems provided by Blue
  • review of university-wide norms, rules, and policy around privacy and use of SETs data

The committee will initially focus on implementation status across the university, development of dashboards and analytic options, and guidance for faculty and colleges on potential additional questions and analytic use of SETs data.

Meetings

The committee will meet 1-2 times per semester to check on overall status, report on completed and upcoming work, share and coordinate cross-college use and experience, develop policy and procedure, and troubleshoot issues. Representatives from units undergoing active implementation will require additional meetings and coordination with members of the SETs implementation team.

The membership in meetings is intended to represent a cross-section of university leaders and SMEs. The meetings are led by SETs project leadership:
